Postmaster general taps new head of U.S. Postal Inspection Service

Postmaster General John E. Potter has appointed Alexander Lazaroff, vice president of Eastern area operations for the U.S. Postal Service, to serve as chief postal inspector of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Mr. Lazaroff, who becomes the 36th chief postal inspector, will assume his new duties following the retirement of current chief postal inspector Lee R. Heath at the end of this year.
