Word of Mouth Marketing...Ask for it
A lot is being written about Word of Mouth marketing and all the experts have at least one piece of advice they give...you got to ask for it. It's good to see so many companies taking this advice. I recently worked with The Logo Company for some graphic work. They were fast and did a great job, even putting up with my non-designer, designer advice ("ummm could you make it a little more Buzzish and a little less 'techish', oh and more blue'). At the end of the project, they asked me if I would refer a friend or write a recommendation. Well guys, here you go. Or take John Jantsch, the Marketing Guru who runs this fine site and organizes all us bloggers on the site. John, and this site have a great reputation in the industry. He provides me with this space to blog. So when he tells me about his new book Duct Tape Marketing and sends me a link to a page full of special offers, and suggests that my readers may be interested in the book, well it's very likely I'm going to create some Buzz about the book. It's relevant to readers of this blog, I know John produces high quality work, and I get to provide all of you with a link full of discounts and offers. John wins. I win. You win. The lesson here? You probably have a lot of customers, partners and vendors who respect you, and like you're product and are willing to talk about you, if you just ask.
