Word of Mouth About Word of Mouth
As a kid, I lived near an asphalt and paving company. The thing is, the parking lot of the place was a mess. Full of holes and chunks of asphalt laying everywhere. I have to think that more than one potential customer left after seeing the parking lot. Just like we'd expect an asphalt company to have an exceptional parking lot, we'd expect a Word of Mouth Marketing book to create a lot of Buzz. The new book, Word of Mouth Marketing, How Smart Companies Get People Talking by WOMMA president Andy Sernovitz seems to be living up to that expectation. Perhaps the most useful thing in the book are Andy's five Ts of WOM: Find your Talkers, Give them a Topic, Give them Tools, Take part in the conversation and Track your results. Andy found his talkers, that's us, the Buzz-WOM-Viral crowd, those of us who pre-ordered his book on Amazon. Then he gave us the topic, cool little tips and tricks in the book. The tools are all the WOM features at the Word of Mouth Book site and now, you can bet, he's tracking, probably using Google Blog Search, Technorati, or Moreover. And here I am, a word of mouth blogger, creating word of mouth, about a word of mouth book.
