Federated Department Stores Inc. announced yesterday that its board of directors will ask shareholders to change the company's name to Macy's Group Inc. "[Federated Department Stores Inc. is] a terrible name. They should change it," said marketing strategist Al Ries, chairman of Ries & Ries, Atlanta, GA.
